WHAT'S HER DEAL?

The internet is a weird, fascinating, scarry, fun place.

(Is it, "a place" ? Hmmm...)

You can type almost any word or phrase into your browser and instantly get a plethura of information on the subject right at your fingertips.

Don't remember exactly how I got here today (a link to a link to a link) and I'm not sure what to think of it.

Give me your opinions.

What the ---??/

I think that looks like the dumbest thing I've ever seen. I've never really totally bought into the whole PMS thing anyway....maybe your mood is effected slightly, but for the most part I think it just gives women a reason to be total b's for a week or so.
I also found this funny:
"We also provide the girl an opportunity to send her guy more specific information regarding her feelings, the severity of her feelings and what she might want from her guy."

Um....couldn't you just try TALKING to him??

Oh my God! What is this world coming to? Who seriously depends o a computer giving them an excuse for being in a bad mood?? I like that they can email the boyfriend, so he can prepare himself, or whatever guys like to do. But okay// How do you find this stuff??

Here's how I found it--I was on a website, which I won't promote here; they supposedly had these funny animated cartoons about how to get back at your girl/boy friend when they piss you off.

They were stupid...and disgusting...and gory. The same link promotes, "What's Her Deal" and thought I'd check it out, as well.

I thought it looked totally stupid, juvenile, lame, sexist, whatever but thought I'd get other opinions.

When will men just learn to deal with life...including females and women get over the PMS crap. Yeah, so you're grumpy, keep it to yourself and learn to control yourself. I agree, Tam, that PMS is just an excuse that makes us look like we're emotional lunatics and unable to control ourselves. Please!

You shouldn't judge others until you've walked there yourself and believe me girls when it comes to PMS it's real and you all will be walking in it someday! Good luck when that happens!

Anonymous-

First of all, as stated in my blog that precedes these comments, these are solicited opinions NOT judgements.

We're discussing hormones and weird websites.

We don't know who you are, how could we judge you?

Some Info:

1) A "Syndrome" is not a disease, just symptoms that seem to group together, with no known medical cause.

2) Not every woman has nor complains of PMS--so we may not "be walking in it someday".

3) Western women seem to be the only culture to "have" PMS--suggesting we have been socialized to it; it's not recognized by the World Health Organization.

4) Though I don't align myself with them... many feminists do not buy into PMS or PMDD, citing the labels as giving permission to medicalize the female condition, subsequently allowing our femininity to be seen as "sickly" and needing to be medicated.

5) If your symptoms are severe, you might want to look into PMDD.

6) Hormones do not make void the capability and responsibility we possess for controlling ourselves.

ditto that.

My mom used to cry "PMS" when I was growing up whenever she was feeling particularly short, impatient, or just plain in a bad mood. I still think it was self-fulfilling prophecy. "Oh, it's that time of the month, so I'll be having PMS this week". She also used to roll her eyes and cry "PMS!" whenever my younger sister was particularly sassy, moody, or in a bad mood. Truth was, she was just your typical teenager.

I've never had or claimed PMS, my husband and/or children have never heard me utter those words as reason for any apparent "moodiness" - and I'm nearing 30. It was never an option for me. If I'm feeling like acting like a "b" then I just call it as it is - "I'm feeling (w)itchy today. Leave me alone" and that's that. Could be that time, could not be - it doesn't matter.

Now, I will, on occasion, use "that time" as excuse for eating an entire box of oreos in one sitting....but that's a blog for another day.
